Torneo Betplay Secures TV Rights Deal

The Torneo Betplay has secured a major TV rights deal after 36 clubs accepted an offer from a group led by Mauricio Correa. The deal is reportedly worth $90 million per season for the next four years, with the money being paid entirely in cash.

Correa’s group was selected as the preferred bidder by Dimayor, the governing body of Colombian football. This decision came after Go Sports denied any involvement in a previous proposal to secure TV rights for the FPC.

The Torneo Betplay is one of five properties that make up Dimayor’s portfolio, along with the Liga BetPlay, Liga Femenina, Torneo de la B, Copa BetPlay, and Superliga. The deal marks a significant development in the world of Colombian football, with many expecting it to bring in new investment and revenue for the sport.
