Costa Rica Kicks Off Concacaf Nations League Campaign

The Concacaf Nations League 2026/27 has officially begun, and Costa Rica is among the teams competing in the Liga A division. Alongside Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Belize, they will face off against each other in a bid to secure one of the four spots in the quarterfinals.

The tournament offers more than just a series of matches for these Central American teams. It serves as a stepping stone towards the 2027 Copa Oro, with the top performers earning a direct spot in the prestigious competition.

Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua will compete in the Liga A division, vying for a place among the quarterfinalists. Meanwhile, Belize aims to make its mark by climbing up from the Liga B division.

The Concacaf Nations League 2026/27 features a unique format, with each team playing four matches in a group stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face off against Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Panama.

The winners of the quarterfinals will then progress to the Final Four, set to take place in March 2027 at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
