Forest Green Rovers’ Southern League Division One South Title Hopes Suffer Blow

Forest Green Rovers’ chances of winning the Southern League Division One South title have taken a hit after their 2-4 defeat to Hartlepool United. The loss has left the team in third place, trailing leaders Chesham United by six points.

The defeat was compounded by the departure of manager Robbie Savage, who left the club to join Peterborough United. Chairman Dale Vince insisted that there is “no vacancy at the minute” following Savage’s exit.

Impact on Southern League Division One South Title Race

The loss has given Chesham United a significant advantage in the title race, with six points separating them from Forest Green Rovers. The team will need to regroup and refocus if they are to mount a serious challenge for the title.

Forest Green Rovers will need to win their remaining games and hope that Chesham United slip up if they are to have any chance of winning the title.

The team’s next game is against Beaconsfield Town, a match that they will be looking to win to keep their title hopes alive.
