The youth teams of VfB Lübeck have been making waves in their respective competitions, and this past week was no exception. The U19 team secured a resounding 7-1 victory over TSV Klausdorf in the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein, while the U17 side edged out SG Breitenburg 1-0 in the SHFV-Pokal quarterfinals.

The U19 team, led by coach Alper Gürsoy, dominated from start to finish. Kyrylo Romanenko opened the scoring with a well-placed shot (13′), and Darius Taiwo doubled the lead just minutes later (17′). Daniel Victor Sterzer then netted two goals in quick succession, first from a Mayor Persse Lufua corner kick (30′) and then with a stunning long-range effort (45′), giving VfB Lübeck a 4-0 halftime lead.

The second half saw the U19 team continue to press for more goals. Mayor Persse Lufua scored his first of the game after a Daniel Victor Sterzer assist (60′), and then Sterzer himself curled a shot past the TSV Klausdorf goalkeeper Fynn Tjark Harms (71′). Fabio Elano Burdich Tavares, who had come on as a substitute, also found the back of the net in the final minutes.

The U17 team’s 1-0 victory over SG Breitenburg was a testament to their defensive solidity and determination. The image below captures the moment when they secured their spot in the quarterfinals.
