Boston NWSL Fans Build Culture from Ground Up

Women’s soccer fans in Boston have thrown their support behind the Legacy, one of the NWSL’s two expansion teams this season.

Members of the Boston Legacy supporters' section wave flags and chant during a game at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Despite facing challenges such as the loss of one franchise, name controversies, and stadium changes, Legacy supporters have created an environment of advocacy and belonging.

The Boston Independent Supporters’ Association (ISA) played a crucial role in building this culture, organizing fans and creating an atmosphere that is both energetic and inclusive.

On March 14, 2026, the Legacy made their debut at Gillette Stadium, with the ISA members proudly displaying their “Up the Swans” scarves and unfurling a massive tifo reading “Our Legacy Takes Flight”.
