MLS NEXT Pro Teams Shine in July Monthly Awards

The month of July has come to a close in MLS NEXT Pro, and several teams have made significant strides towards their playoff push.

Houston Dynamo 2 earned their second Team of the Month vote with an impressive three-win July, inching them closer to a return to the MLS NEXT Pro Cup playoffs. Expansion side CT United FC is also peaking at the right time under the guidance of Coach Shavar Thomas, who earned his first Coach of the Month vote for leading his team to maximum points in July.

Carolina Core FC had much to celebrate this month thanks to Striker Arnaud Tattevin’s six-goal July, which made him Player of the Month. On the goalkeeper side, Portland Timbers2 had a low-drama month thanks to Sam Joseph, who earned Goalkeeper of the Month.

New England Revolution Academy winger Matthew Jean Baptiste also had a breakout month with impressive performances throughout July.

The standout performances across the league are a testament to the growing talent and competitiveness in MLS NEXT Pro.
