Medellin Faces Once Caldas in Liga BetPlay 2026-II with Four Key Players Absent

Independiente Medellin is set to face off against Once Caldas in the Liga BetPlay 2026-II, but they will be doing so without four of their top players. Juan Fernando Quintero, Jackson Martinez, Jeison Medina, and Juan Jose Cordoba were all absent from the squad announced ahead of the match at Atanasio Girardot Stadium in Medellin.

The omissions come as the club looks to recover from its Copa BetPlay elimination against city rival Atletico Nacional. The league fixture is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. Colombian time during the 15th round, and will see Once Caldas enter the stadium looking to close the four-point gap between themselves and Deportes Tolima, who currently hold eighth place in the standings.

Medellin occupies fifth place with 23 points, while Once Caldas sits 10th with 16. The match is expected to be a closely contested one, with both teams looking to make a statement in the Liga BetPlay 2026-II.
