Latvia’s Virsliga Teams Gear Up for UEFA Competition
The 2026/27 UEFA Conference League has announced its teams and format, with several Latvian clubs set to participate in the competition. The tournament will feature a total of 32 teams from across Europe, divided into eight groups of four.
Latvia’s top-tier league, Virsliga, has been represented by several teams in previous UEFA competitions, including RFS and Valmiera FC. This season promises to be just as competitive, with the likes of FK Liepaja and Spartaks Jūrmala also vying for a spot in the Conference League.
The competition will kick off in August and feature a total of 10 matchdays, with the group stage concluding in November. The top two teams from each group will then progress to the knockout phase, which will see them compete for a spot in the Conference League final.
