La Liga Crisis Deepens as Valencia Suffers 5-0 Defeat to Barcelona
Valencia’s woeful start to the La Liga season continued on September 6th as they suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona. The loss was a stark reminder of the club’s deep-seated problems, which were exposed by none other than World Cup winner Rodri.
Speaking after the match, Rodri delivered a scathing verdict on his team’s performance, describing it as “very weak” and “very bad”. His words were brutally honest, but unfortunately for Valencia, they came too late to save their manager and CEO from the axe. Within days of Rodri’s comments, both men had left the club.
The problems at Valencia run much deeper than just a change in management, however. The club’s president, Kiat Lim, has been under intense pressure from fans who are demanding his resignation. During the match against Barcelona, fans held up signs reading “Lim, go home” in protest against the club’s leadership.

The defeat to Barcelona was Valencia’s fourth loss of the season, and it leaves them struggling at the bottom of the La Liga table. With their problems on and off the pitch showing no signs of abating, it remains to be seen whether the club can turn things around before it’s too late.
