Real Sociedad Set for La Rosaleda League Return on 18 October

LaLiga has confirmed the matchweek 9 schedule, with Real Sociedad visiting Málaga at La Rosaleda on Sunday 18 October at 18.30.

This will be Real’s first league game in Málaga in eight years, a long-awaited return to the stadium where they last played on 22 April 2018. On that occasion, Imanol was interim head coach and the visitors lost 2-0 to goals from Adrián González and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Mikel Oyarzabal and Álvaro Odriozola are the only players from that squad still in the team. Their most recent outing at La Rosaleda was in the 23/24 Copa del Rey third round, a 1-0 win sealed by an Einar Galilea own goal.

Real Sociedad will be looking to bounce back from their Europa League trip to Union Saint-Gilloise on matchday two. The team’s performance at La Rosaleda will be closely watched, as they aim to make a strong statement in the league.
