Atlético Nacional Advances to Copa BetPlay Semifinals
Colombian football powerhouse Atlético Nacional has secured its spot in the semifinals of the Copa BetPlay 2026 tournament after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Independiente Medellín in a highly anticipated match.
The win marked a dramatic turn of events for Nacional, who came from behind to snatch the win and advance to the next stage of the competition. César Haydar’s own goal, Frank Fabra’s autogol, and Andrés Román’s strike proved to be the decisive factors in securing Nacional’s place in the semifinals.
Independiente Medellín, on the other hand, will have to regroup after a disappointing loss. Martín Martegani scored a brace for Medellín, including a penalty kick, but it was not enough to prevent their elimination from the tournament.
Nacional now awaits its next opponent, who will emerge victorious in the upcoming match between Independiente Santa Fe and Once Caldas. The winner of this encounter will face Nacional in the semifinals, with the local tie yet to be determined.
