Local Talent Shines Bright in Canadian Premier League
Ralph Khoury and Owen Antoniuk are two names that will be on everyone’s lips after their heroics over the weekend in the Canadian Premier League. The young duo, both hailing from Ottawa, scored crucial goals for their respective teams to seal vital wins.
Khoury, 19 years old, was a late substitute for Atlético Ottawa but made an instant impact, scoring the winner against FC Supra with just minutes left on the clock. This moment of glory was a long time coming for Khoury, who began his youth football journey in Lebanon before moving to Canada at the age of 15.
Now proudly calling Ottawa his home, Khoury has worked his way into the first team after signing with Atlético last season on an Exceptional Young Talent contract. Coach Gustavo Leal was eager to get Khoury on the pitch and deployed him in a new position against Supra, operating as a midfielder behind Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau.
Atlético Ottawa’s youth movement continues to thrive, with Khoury being part of the next generation alongside other locally-raised youngsters. Meanwhile, Owen Antoniuk’s screamer helped Cavalry FC leapfrog Forge in the CPL Shield race.

Khoury’s goal was a testament to his hard work and dedication, and he will be looking to build on this momentum in the coming weeks. The Canadian Premier League is certainly producing some exciting young talent, and fans are eagerly anticipating what these players have in store for them.
