Walsall Edge Out Grimsby Town in Youth Alliance Thriller

The young Saddlers were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they took on Grimsby Town Under-18s at Ray Hall Lane.

Looking to build upon their previous draw away to Mansfield Town, Walsall Under-18s came out strong and dominated the game from start to finish.

The home side’s pressure finally paid off in the 25th minute when a well-worked move saw them take the lead through an unmarked striker. The visitors pushed hard for an equalizer but were unable to breach Walsall’s defense.

Just before halftime, Grimsby Town managed to pull one back, but it was too little, too late as Walsall added two more goals in the second half to seal a 3-1 victory.

The win sees Walsall move up the Youth Alliance North table, while Grimsby Town will be looking to bounce back from this defeat in their next match.
