Two Young Fans Arrested Over Violence Before Górnik-Zabrze vs Ferencváros Match
The Polish police have taken two local teenagers into custody over their alleged involvement in a violent incident before the recent match between Górnik-Zabrze and Ferencváros.
The 17- and 20-year-old men are suspected of participating in an attack on a pizzeria in Zabrze, which left several people injured. The authorities claim that they put others’ lives and health at risk, as well as caused material damage.
The police have initiated proceedings for the two suspects to be held in pre-trial detention. Further arrests are not ruled out as the investigation continues.
The incident occurred on the eve of the Europa League qualifying match between Górnik-Zabrze and Ferencváros. A Hungarian fan suffered a leg injury while fleeing from the scene, jumping over a fence.
According to initial reports, ten Hungarian fans were questioned by police in connection with the incident, but none of them filed a complaint.
