Torrents Makes Instant Impact at Ajax
New signing Jofre Torrents has wasted no time making an impression at Ajax. The left-back, who arrived from FC Barcelona, was in attendance on Tuesday night for Jong Ajax’s home game against FC Emmen in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
Technical director Jordi Cruyff is a big admirer of Torrents and was the man who lured him away from Barcelona. The young full-back signed a four-year contract at the Johan Cruyff ArenA on Monday.
Torrents watched as his new teammates took to the field, with Diego Pugno stealing the show in the first half, scoring twice for Jong Ajax. Emre Ünüvar was also on target, but it wasn’t enough as FC Emmen ran out 6-4 winners.

Torrents’ arrival is a significant boost to Ajax’s squad, and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to his new surroundings. With his experience at Barcelona, he brings a level of quality that could make all the difference in the Eerste Divisie.
