Russian Flag Sparks Clashes at Dynamo Kyiv Match in Poland

A Russian flag displayed during Dynamo Kyiv’s Europa League qualifier in Poland sparked angry scenes in the stands, prompting the stadium security to use tear gas on the crowds.

The incident occurred during Dynamo’s match against Greek club PAOK in Lublin, a city in eastern Poland that has been hosting Ukrainian teams due to Russia’s invasion.

Dynamo coach Ihor Kostiuk said the flag had been brought into the stadium intentionally by PAOK supporters, who appeared to fail to understand the suffering caused by Russia’s war.

Tensions between Ukrainian and Russian fans have been running high in recent months, with both sides engaging in heated chants and gestures during matches.
