Inter Toronto FC Bolsters Coaching Staff with Appointment of José Guadalupe Cruz

The Canadian Premier League’s Inter Toronto Football Club has made a significant addition to its coaching staff with the appointment of José Guadalupe Cruz as Assistant First Team Coach & Director of Sporting Development. This move brings one of Mexico’s most experienced football figures to the club, further strengthening its sporting department.

Cruz, known affectionately as “El Profe,” boasts nearly four decades of experience in the game, both as a player and manager. His coaching career has seen him lead several prominent Liga MX clubs, including Atlante, Monterrey, Morelia, Puebla, Atlas, and Dorados de Sinaloa.

As a player, Cruz was part of the Atlante team that won the Mexican league championship. One of his most notable achievements as a coach came when he guided Atlante to the Liga MX Apertura 2007 championship, earning him the title of Liga MX Head Coach of the Year in the process.

Cruz’s appointment is seen as a significant coup for Inter Toronto FC, with the club’s sporting philosophy and player development structure set to benefit from his expertise. He will work closely with Head Coach Mauro Eustáquio and the First Team coaching staff, while also supporting the connection between the Inter Toronto Academy, Pathway, and First Team.
