The Polish I Liga is set to kick off its new season, with several teams vying for promotion to the top-tier Ekstraklasa. The league has undergone significant changes in recent years, with some of the biggest names in Polish football dropping down from the Ekstraklasa.

One of the teams to watch this season is Stal Mielec, who finished third in the I Liga last year. With a strong squad and experienced coaching staff, they are looking to make a serious push for promotion.

Another team that could challenge for promotion is Chojniczanka Chojnice. Despite struggling with injuries last season, they have strengthened their squad over the summer and will be hoping to improve on their mid-table finish.

The I Liga season gets underway in late August, with all 18 teams competing in a double-round robin format. The top two teams at the end of the season will earn promotion to the Ekstraklasa, while the teams finishing third to sixth will compete in a playoff tournament for the final spot.
