Jesse Marsch may not have to think twice about summoning Simon Colyn for a national team camp soon.

The 24-year-old forward, plying his trade in Denmark with Lyngby Boldklub, has been consistently delivering impressive performances that make a strong case for an invitation.

Colyn’s latest display saw him net a goal and provide an assist in Lyngby’s 3-3 derby draw against FC Nordsjælland, who are vying for the top spot in the table.

The Vancouver Whitecaps academy product has now accumulated four goals and two assists in ten league appearances this season, with his team languishing at the bottom of the standings.

His first goal of the campaign came against league leaders FC Copenhagen on the opening day, one of only three instances where Copenhagen have failed to secure maximum points across 11 games this term.

Colyn’s knack for scoring crucial goals is evident, having helped Lyngby earn promotion last season and now leading his team into the fourth round of the Danish Cup against Randers FC.

With three goals in his last four games, Colyn is hitting his stride, despite his team struggling as a whole.
