MLS NEXT Pro Honors: Matchweek 26

A battle of independent teams always has a little something extra to it.

Led by hat trick hero Alex Krehl, Chattanooga FC were up to the task in Matchweek 26. Putting a dominant 5-2 win over Carolina Core FC, the Boys in Blue won the better of the season series en route to their third Team of the Matchweek selection this season.

Up north, it was the Johnny Selemani show as he powered Whitecaps FC 2 in back-to-back wins in a busy double-fixture week, earning his first Player of the Matchweek nod.

The academy kids continue to take center stage for Philadelphia Union II. Union Academy striker Theo Reed’s brace was vital in a 3-2 win over FC Cincinnati 2, making him the MLS NEXT Rising Star of the Matchweek.
