Ajax Eyes Noa Lang as Potential Boost to Eredivisie

Wim Kieft, a renowned analyst from Haarlem, has weighed in on the potential signing of Netherlands international Noa Lang by Ajax. The forward has been linked with a return to the Netherlands, and Kieft believes it would be a significant boost for both Ajax and the Eredivisie.

“For the Dutch league and Ajax, that would be a strengthening,” Kieft said in an interview. “At PSV he did quite well too, of course.” However, he also pointed out that Lang’s struggles abroad have been well-documented, particularly at Galatasaray.

Kieft expressed his skepticism about Lang’s ability to succeed in the Eredivisie, stating that the player has not performed up to expectations. “We rate players highly very quickly,” Kieft said. “We are going to see that with Godts as well, even if he is Belgian. Lang did not succeed in Naples. And after that he went to Galatasaray. That did not really work out either, of course.”

Rob Jansen, a colleague of Kieft’s, added his thoughts on the matter, suggesting that Lang’s struggles with criticism may be a major factor in his inability to succeed abroad. “If he were really to focus on football,” Jansen said. “And stop with all the off-field matters for a while. Then he can still have a very fine career.”

Kieft’s comments come as Ajax continues to eye Lang as a potential signing, with the club looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
