Will Harry Kane Leave Spurs This Summer?

Published: 2021-05-18 By: The Guru

For a player considered “too chubby” by Arsenal youth coach, Harry Kane hasn’t done too bad for himself. He could well win the Golden Boot in the Premier League this season, but will he be at Tottenham next season.

The England striker has been in the senior squad at Tottenham since 2009. He went on loan a few times but back at Spurs he soon showed what a great player he is. Since the 2014/15 season, Kane has scored goal after goal for Tottenham. His goal against Wolves on May 16 was his 162nd  in seven seasons with another 51 in other competitions. An impressive scoring record but what honours has he won?

There have been plenty of individual honours but just two runners-up medals in the EFL Cup and another in the Champions League. Does Kane want to be a player who is in a winning team or stay at Tottenham this summer?

His club have flattered to deceive this season. An impressive start was made, and they even topped the table. Now it looks like Europa League or even Europa Conference League football for Kane next season.

Kane obviously loves Tottenham but is he ever going to win anything but a cup competition with them? Surely when he plays for England, he must be weary of hearing other players talking about the honours they’ve won. Would Messi or Ronaldo want to play for a team in the Europa League that never wins anything?

It’s a big decision for Kane to make ahead of a busy summer with England at Euro 2020. That tournament will again put Kane in the spotlight, especially if the goals begin to flow for him. If you are looking for some of the best odds on that event and other football competitions, a visit to betfootball.com is highly informative.

Where would he go if leaving Tottenham? Few clubs in the English Premier League would be able to afford him. Manchester City could see Kane as an ideal replacement for the departing Sergio Aguero. Kane is also excellent in terms of the assists he can contribute. Whether City would break the bank for a player who is 28 in a couple of months and can be injury prone remains to be seen.

Perhaps it will be Manchester United who will be putting in a bid for Kane. Why would they want him when they already have Rashford, Greenwood and Cavani plus loads of goals from Bruno Fernandes?  A move overseas could be on with Real Madrid reportedly interested. If they can’t get Mbappe, then a big bid may well come in from them.

The word is that Kane may well be on his way out of Tottenham. If the club misses out on Champions League football, their finances will suffer. The money they could get from selling Kane would make it a bit easier financially for them. For Kane it’s a decision between playing for a club he loves and winning honours but it might not be his decision in the end.
