Football Stars to Watch At EURO 2020

Published: 2021-06-09 By: The Guru

The European Championship is starting in a couple of days - one year later than expected but still anticipated with the same (perhaps even bigger) enthusiasm. Outlets from all over the world, from vwin Vietnam to FanDuel in the US are now preparing to be assaulted by punters trying to predict the results of the tournament. The rest of us - we are just looking forward to seeing some quality football.

The national teams participating in the tournament will obviously take their best and brightest to the turf. Here are some of the players who will deserve our special attention.

Dejan Kulusevski (Sweden)

Swedish player Dejan Kulusevski has graduated from Atalanta’s youth academy in 2018, then tried his luck at several teams - he had a loan spell at Parma, then transferred to Juventus that sent him back to Parma for some more training. Ultimately, he stepped on the turf last September for the first time wearing Juve’s jersey, and immediately showed his worth by scoring a goal in his professional debut.

Kulusevski played in dozens of matches for the Swedish national team, most of them as a youth but since 2019, he is part of the senior squad. He is one of the few attackers who can play in almost any position and has remarkable ball control and vision. He may be one of the players to prove a pleasant surprise in this year’s European Championship.

Kingsley Coman (France)

Although he is only 24, Coman already has a very impressive resume, having played for teams like Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, and his current club, Bayern Munich. He has some experience with European tournaments as well - he was part of France’s squad that reached the final at EURO 2016.

Coman is considered one of the best players of his generation, with remarkable dribbling skills and vision, not to mention his impressive speed and acceleration.

Jude Bellingham (England)

Jude Bellingham is the rising star of English football. At age 17, he has become the youngest goalscorer in the Bundesliga after joining Borussia Dortmund last year, and he made his debut with England’s senior national team last November, becoming the third-youngest English full international footballer in the process.

Bellingham is praised for his excellent vision and talent in setting up goals, not to mention the dribbling skills that often help him get out of tight situations on the turf.

Matthijs de Ligt (Netherlands)

Matthijs de Ligt is expected to perform remarkably at the European Championship… if he manages to recover from the groin injury he suffered earlier this year. De Ligt is one of the most remarkable Dutch players today - and his talent on the turf has shown early. At the age of 17, he became the youngest captain of Ajax Amsterdam and he became the youngest full international of the Dutch national team since the 1930s.

De Ligt has many skills that make him an impressive player, including his vision, passing, and shooting power - add this to his height and strength that allow him to start attacks from the back, creating an extra man in the midfield in the process.

João Felix (Portugal)

Finally, let’s not forget the Portuguese player who has become the second-most-expensive teenager upon his transfer from Benfica to Atlético Madrid in 2019.

Félix is a talented player who can play as a forward, winger and attacking midfielder, known for his acrobatic abilities, dribbling skills, and creativity.
