Top Predictions For This Weekend’s Bundesliga Action

Published: 2020-06-03 By: The Guru

As Bayern Munich continue to dominate the Bundesliga returns to action, let’s take a look into this weekend’s footy action from Germany. Which fixtures seem to offer the most value at the bookmakers?

Bayern Munich vs. Dusseldorf

Saturday 30th of May, 4:30 pm GMT Kick-Off

Bayern Munich - A domineering 1-0 victory over second-placed Borussia Dortmund left Bayern Munich in the ideal situation to finish the league, at the top of the crop. Since returning from the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, Munich has looked untouchable and their first real tough task was accomplished with an eerie empty atmosphere for the renowned Klassikers fixture.

In a game that was expected to provide goals, as history has dictated, it was one of the tightest matchups between the two sides in recent memory as Joshua Kimmich slotted away the only goal of the game just before the half. Lackluster in goals it may have been, but Munich proved once again why they’re the kings of German Football.

With the home advantage becoming non-existent, it becomes obvious that the lower talented squads rely a lot on their home crowd support. Home teams have won a mere 3 games of the 19 Bundesliga matchups since the return to football, proving the old-style attendance home advantage to be quite significant.

Dusseldorfthey recently won against Schalke 04 but this doesn’t mean much on the odds against Bayern Munich

Dusseldorf has drawn and lost one too many games this season, leaving them in the dangerous relegation zone. Along with that bad news, they have to face the best team in the league who although they are clear at the top, still haven’t secured the league title for sure, making them a dangerous outing as ever.

Dusseldorf has shown resilience and whilst in the middle of a relegation battle should be fighting hard in defence to keep Munich at bay. Will they be able to defeat the mighty Bayern Munich? Not a chance, the reverse fixture saw Munich outclass Dusseldorf 4-0 away from home and I fear the same outcome may be on the horizon.

Betting prediction – The home team recovered from their early-season slump, and now head into their fixture with Dusseldorf undefeated across 18 fixtures in all competitions. Munich has won 13 of their last 14 Bundesliga games and is expected to deliver another beating over Dusseldorf.

On the road, Dusseldorf has been surprisingly tough to defeat and have avoided that scenario in six of their 13 league matches this season, but with that said, we still have to take into consideration that none of the teams Dusseldorf has had success against are even close to the stacked squad of Bayern Munich. Who’s notably found a lot of success without a crowd in attendance; I believe without any distractions the best in the world can deliver some of their best performances.

The easy route is to take Bayern Munich to win and have no worries, but you’ll find the best value amongst the markets available.Bayern Munich -2 ½ / 3 goals are priced at -139 / 1.72 at Youwager and I think that’ll be my favourite play on this fixture. Having found the back of the net four times in their previous encounter, I have confidence the home side can dismantle Dusseldorf for a second time this season and secure at least 3 goals, making our prediction a winner is achieved.
