Gameweek one was not without drama - few people would have predicted Spurs to beat Man City without Harry Kane in the squad and we were the only online tipsters to predict a difficult opening game for Arsenal.
The early signs seem to point to goals in the Premier League with an average goals per game of 3.4 and seven out of the ten games seeing over 2.5 goals.
Today we have six games to preview - we will pick out a favourite bet for each as well as an attempt at guessing the correct score.
Liverpool started their season strongly with a convincing 3-0 victory over Norwich City whilst Burnley lost 2-1 at home to Brighton.
Many will be expecting a comfortable victory again for Liverpool today but this game comes with a red flag as Burnley have been something of a trouble team for Liverpool in recent years having only won two of the last five fixtures between the two at Anfield. Burnley took the three points back in January thanks to a 1-0 win.
Liverpool are undoubtly stronger today than they were back then and we can see them taking the three points today but it is unlikley to be a large victory. Our correct score prediction for this one is 2-1 Win to Livepool.
Our best bet for this game:
A game that features two teams that lost their opening games of the season and one that could see goals today.
Aston Villa lost 3-2 to Watford and Newcastle lost 4-2 to West Ham in their last games so there are plenty of goals conceeded and scored which points to a game that could go either way and where the team that can outscore the other being the likely winner.
It could well be a battle between Callum Wilson and Danny Ings here for who will outscore the other and we actually think that both players will find the net today.
Newcastle have a lot of flair in their team at the moment and the return of Willock will make them more direct and we would not be surprised to see them go against the bookies here and pull off the win. We think the correct score here will be a 3-2 win for Newcastle.
Our pick of the bets is:
As predicted last week Brentford have made a bright start to life in the Premier League following their 2-0 victory over Arsenal. Crystal Palace had a tough opening game away at Chelsea so it is too early to judge their chances off that performance alone.
We know that Brentford will come into this match very well organised and with Ivan Toney failing to get on the scoresheet last weekend it increases the odds of him scoring this week as he rarely goes more than two games without a goal - he is the player to watch in this game.
Brentford may have kept a clean sheet last week but they do conceede a lot of shots at goal and with the likes of Wilfred Zaha coming up against them today it seems likely that they will struggle to keep a clean sheet in this one.
For our correct score prediction here we will go for a 1-1 draw.
Our best bet:
Leeds suffered a heavy defeat at the hand of Manchester United in gameweek one and that might be a sign of things to come for them this season as we believe they will struggle to have the same impact in the league this season like they did last year.
Everton came from 0-1 down at half time to beat Southampton 3-1 last time out and look to have found a good system under new manager Rafa Benitez.
For us we can only see an Everton win here despite the bookies making Leeds the favourites. There will likely be Over 2.5 Goals in this one as well so our correct score prediction is 2-1 to Everton.
Our best bet:
Man City fell to a 1-0 defeat to Spurs last weekend and will be looking to send a message out to the rest of the league today that they are still title contenders. They face a Norwich side who will be cursing the fixture computer for giving them Liverpool and Man City in the first two gameweeks.
It is hard to see anything other than a Man City win here with the question being more about how many they score.
The previous time these two met it was 5-0 to Man City and we think it will be close to that again with our correct score pick being 4-0 to Man City.
Our best bet:
Both these sides got off to a winning start in gameweek one so it will be interesting to see which side can keep their 100% record going past gameweek two.
The bookmakers are making Brighton strong favourites here which looks to be cruel on a Watford team that can score goals.
This is the toughest game to call today as it could really go either way.
For us we actually think Watford will upset the odds today and take a 3-1 victory.
Our best bet:
We hope you enjoy today's Premier League games if you are watching and that this preview helps you to make some good profit today.
