The English Championship season is now three games in and we can start to get a read for how the season might play out.
Bristol City recorded a much needed win last time out holding on to beat Reading 3-2 - a win that ended a long run of twelve games without a win - they will be hoping to use that as a boost coming into tonight's game against a Swansea side that have started the league season slowly.
Many would have expected Swansea to start strong this season having finished in the top six two seasons on the bounce now. They have dominated the play in their games this season but are struggling to turn possession of the ball into chances on goal and so far are averaging only 2.8 shots on target per game.
Previous head to heads don't seem to point to any patterns but Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has a strong record against the South Wales club recording five wins from his eight games against them.
This game looks like it will go the way of the team that opens the scoring and with the algorithm giving this game an 80% chance of a goal before half-time we can expect that goal to come in the first half - with Bristol City slightly ahead in being most likely to score it.
The xG rating for game points to it having around 3.3 and with Bristol City having a poor clean sheet record both teams to score seems to be in with a strong chance.
If we were to be pushed for a correct score prediction here, we would take a punt on 2-1 to Bristol City.
